CHICAGO, Oct. 3, 2022 – JLL has received IFMA’s 2022 Awards of Excellence, Facility Management Innovation Award for Dynamic Cleaning’s integration of real-time workplace data for custodial teams to prioritize cleaning activities. Dynamic Cleaning enhances employee wellbeing, aligns with sustainability programs, optimizes costs and increases operational efficiency by focusing cleaning where and when required.

Dynamic Cleaning integrates technology, strategic supplier management and program management into one service. Real-time workplace data and insights are available to the janitorial team through a web-based application that generates trends and immediate workplace usage reports. The AI-powered platform is provided by JLL Technologies partner Infogrid, a smart IoT technology startup that is funded by JLL Spark Global Ventures, JLL’s corporate venture arm. By implementing Dynamic Cleaning, facility managers and cleaning staff can see exactly which workspaces have been used or are still being used, and where cleaning will be needed — enabling them to prioritize the right cleaning services for the right spaces, at the right time.

“We couldn’t be more excited to accept this award. Dynamic Cleaning represents a transformation in how we deliver targeted and sustainable cleaning across space types,” said Jessica Rose, Global Sr. Product Manager. “While we have initially targeted Dynamic Cleaning for commercial office spaces, we are investing in scaling the product to address the needs of all customer segments.”

For many organizations, hybrid work and variable occupancy are here to stay, and IoT-driven dynamic building services and smart building technologies are the key to operating efficiently. Dynamic Cleaning offers a flexible solution for the challenge of providing facility management services when occupancy fluctuates daily — it also opens the door to exploring other uses of sensors and IoT technologies in the workplace.

“At JLL, innovation is a part of our DNA and receiving the prestigious IFMA innovation award means a lot to our team,” said Nishant Pandey, Global Product Leader, JLL Technologies. “While the innovation was initially spurred by the pandemic, the need for enhanced cleaning is here to stay and consumers will continue to demand the high standard of cleanliness that Dynamic Cleaning provides.”

IFMA’s Awards of Excellence recognize the outstanding achievements of individual members, chapters, councils, communities and partners. Introduced in 2016, the Facilities Management Innovation Award recognizes projects that are new, exciting, cost-efficient and replicable; that are beyond the leading edge of standard facility management practices. The award is designed to foster creative thinking and innovative practices that will lead facility managers into the future.
