CHICAGO, Apr. 28, 2022 – JLL announced today the firm has begun providing integrated facilities management and project management services to CyrusOne, a leading global data center developer and operator specializing in delivering state-of-the-art digital infrastructure solutions.

JLL is now managing 50 CyrusOne data centers in North America, making it one of the largest facilities management collaborations in the sector. In the first three months of the relationship, JLL has successfully digitized operations, enabling higher work productivity, real time operational dashboards and business intelligence.

“We are excited to work together and apply our comprehensive operational and engineering practices to advance CyrusOne’s portfolio operations while enhancing site efficiencies, system reliability and overall technical competency of the data center delivery teams,” said Rich Okoney, Head of Global Data Center Operations & Engineering, JLL. “Our strategy includes deploying best-in-class reliability engineering services to advance CyrusOne’s position, while supporting the continuous evolution of building their world class data center operations.”

The relationship is providing training opportunities and management enhancements for CyrusOne, as well as assessments of technicians, showing an inside look at the knowledge and aptitude of technicians across multiple disciplines. Through these assessments, CyrusOne leadership is developing a better understanding of knowledge gaps, allowing for more educational opportunities to implement down the road with the goal of stronger technical and cultural alignment at CyrusOne.

“Our collaboration with JLL has been truly transformative across the board, but it has especially bettered our cultural alignment as an entity,” said Chris Napier, Vice President, Operations, CyrusOne. “The training systems have been paramount for our technicians and employees, allowing for more opportunity for proper education on the digitization of data centers and management enhancements within our company.”

Data centers remain in high demand as the global economy increases its digital reliance, yet many operators have not yet digitized their own facilities. JLL’s integrated facilities management service is designed to help data center operators maintain 100% uptime while improving efficiency and profitability with cutting-edge technology solutions.

“As we embark on our work, we are committed to providing secure and reliable service to instill trust and confidence among CyrusOne customers,” said Bill Teberg, Division President, Midwest/South Region, JLL. “With our comprehensive training program and technology platforms, we will drive digitization of CyrusOne’s data center operations, providing comprehensive facilities data and business intelligence to inform decision making and maintain uptime.”

JLL’s data center facilities management team further aims to improve cost efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership through best-in-class services, proven project management and streamlined processes.
