Current responsibilities
Todd Burns is the President of the Project and Development Services and General Contracting units of JLL. In this capacity, Todd is responsible for establishing and executing on the strategic direction of the business.
Todd sits on the global practice board with responsibility for the Americas representation ensuring that the organization provides similar processes and results across the world.
He has profit and loss responsibility for the unit and is responsible for driving the strategy and growth of the organization with operating control over 1,200+ employees in 30 major markets throughout the United States.
He also has responsibility for business development, relationship management for the firm’s clients seeking project management services, and ensures that the firm’s clients receive outstanding performance from the organization.
In addition to running many different major projects for our clients, Todd is recognized for his ability to achieve significant savings for clients while building effective teams.
Experience
Prior to joining JLL in 1990, Todd worked as a Project Manager for Continental Bank working with corporate banking clients. Todd has also worked as a general contractor for LaSalle Construction, a Research Architect for the Army Corps of Engineers and an Architect for both a suburban Chicago architectural firm and an architectural engineering and construction management firm in St. Louis.
Education
Todd holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois-Champaign.
Todd also holds the designation of a licensed architect in the State of Illinois, is a long time member of CoreNet, and a LEED Green Associate.
