Guthrie is an active participant in the nonprofit world. He is a supporter and long-time volunteer at Ronald McDonald House on the Upper East Side. He served on the board of trustees for the James Lennox House, an institution dedicated to affordable housing for older adults. At James Lenox House he chaired the fundraising committee and served as a member of the nominating committee. He is a member of the advisory board of Cristo Rey New York High School- a nonprofit high school that combines on-the-job work experience with academics. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Brooklyn Jesuit Prep, a Catholic Jesuit middle school serving low-income families of diverse races, ethnicities and faiths. Additionally, he is an active member of the Fordham University President’s Council.
