JLL leases space at Legacy Union for expanded Charlotte office

City’s largest commercial real estate services firm to occupy two floors at Uptown tower

June 22, 2020

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 22, 2020 – JLL, the largest commercial real estate firm in the Charlotte region, has leased two floors totaling nearly 41,000 square feet at Lincoln Harris’ Legacy Union project, a mixed-use development in Uptown Charlotte. The commercial real estate provider will occupy most of the fifth and all of the sixth floors of the 18-story building at 650 South Tryon in the first quarter of 2021.

JLL’s new office will bring together more than 150 professionals currently located throughout Charlotte, including those who joined JLL through the strategic acquisition of leading Capital Markets firm HFF last year.

Inspired by JLL’s Future of Work, a unique outlook on the changing world of the workplace and its impact on the next generation of real estate, JLL’s workplace will foster collaboration and connectivity in a location that is accessible for employees, clients and visitors.

“Our new space will provide an environment to inspire and engage our employees and clients alike,” said Chase Monroe, JLL Carolinas Market Director. “We are excited to feed off the energy of Uptown and optimistic for the future of real estate as our city grows. As COVID-19 has presented challenges, we strive to be the leaders in commercial real estate to re-imagine the new workplace of the future. The timing of our move provides the unique ability to ensure flexibility, well-being and safety for our teammates, clients and partners as we step forward to the new normal of office space.”

With uninterrupted views of the skyline from every corner, JLL’s new space can accommodate more than 200 employees and further support the firm’s growth across various business lines, including Corporate Solutions, Tenant Representation, Landlord Representation, Capital Markets, Property Management, Project and Development Services, and JLL Technologies. Together, JLL will find smarter, better ways to deliver solutions to clients and will be integrating key initiatives to foster safety and trust in the post-COVID world.

JLL’s Jaime Boast and Bryan White represented JLL, and Ridr Knowlton and Campbell Walker at Lincoln Harris represented the landlord. Gensler is designing the new space.

This office move is a result of JLL Carolina’s growth strategy and follows the recently relocated JLL Raleigh-Durham office to the new mixed-use Crabtree Terrace development, doubling its space with the move at over 13,000 square feet.
