JLL adds regional healthcare leader to Project and Development Services

David Dierking joins JLL as vice president and PDS healthcare practice lead for the midwest.

CHICAGO, April 1, 2019 – JLL announced today it has expanded its Project and Development Services (PDS) team with the addition of David Dierking as vice president and PDS healthcare practice lead for the Midwest.

Prior to joining JLL, Dierking held leadership roles in project management, construction and design, and facilities engineering at Edward-Elmhurst Health, Hammes Company and Advocate Health Care, among others.

“David’s technical skills coupled with his vision for improving the quality of patient care makes him an asset to each of his clients,” said Roger Herritz, senior vice president and national healthcare practice lead, JLL Project and Development Services.

Projects Dierking has managed over the course of his 30-year career include the 600-bed St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, 120-bed St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Kentucky, and a $70 million project in Naperville, Illinois, involving a five-story, ground-up healthcare facility.

“Hospitals and health systems are making investments in their physical spaces to position themselves for long-term success,” Dierking said. “Joining JLL gives me an opportunity to help health systems evolve to deliver the highest level of patient care in today’s shifting healthcare landscape.”

Dierking has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois and a MBA from Loyola University of Chicago. He is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE), a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) and a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) with the American Hospital Association.

According to JLL’s latest Construction Outlook, the U.S. healthcare sector recorded 26 million square feet of hospital construction completions and 21 million square feet of medical office building construction completions in 2018.
