Simply put, NewWave Telecom and Technologies, Inc. (NewWave) is devoted to helping businesses and government agencies modernize and thrive by applying the power of technology. This rapidly growing information technology company based out of Elkridge, Maryland, recently unveiled their “Collaboration Center,” a workspace built with the sole purpose of sparking innovation and facilitating collaboration between NewWave and their clients and partners. What drove this fourteen-year-old technology company to literally think outside the box and create such a destination? See for yourself.

NewWave’s CEO Patrick Munis founded the company in 2004, driven by his entrepreneurial passion, appreciation for his community and a mission to change the world of healthcare technology. Through a diverse set of career experiences, Patrick developed a deep understanding of the challenges the healthcare system faces and wanted to make a difference by providing flexible, customized and cost-effective technology solutions. Judging by the awards and industry recognition NewWave has garnered over its history, it’s safe to say Patrick succeeded.

As the company continued to grow, Patrick wanted to take NewWave to the next level and forge deeper connections with clients and the surrounding communities. Rather than expanding the company’s current office space, Patrick saw an opportunity for NewWave to be in close proximity to their main customer, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and showcase the company’s innovation through space. He wanted to create something the market had never seen before. NewWave’s Ashley Norris, Administrative and Facilities Manager, worked with JLL’s Brad Crosley to bring Patrick’s vision to life. Enter the 7,200 square foot “Collaboration Center” at 2270 Rolling Run Drive in Baltimore, MD.

Brad worked closely with Ashley to identify the ideal location for the “Collaboration Center” at a time when there was limited availability in the market. After an extensive search process, Brad found a great option for NewWave that would allow them to build out their space from scratch. After negotiating the terms of the lease, Brad and Ashley partnered with JLL project manager, Maria Demma to plan, design and build an environment consistent with Patrick’s vision.

Recognizing that innovation is driven by sharing ideas and collaboration, the “Collaboration Center” features a long table for work, collaborative meeting rooms and a dedicated Innovation Lab for research and development, used to conduct demos for clients and partners. NewWave recently went through a rebrand and their space reflects the new look and feel. Bright colors and bold design represent the company’s diverse, energetic and creative approach to work and help create a welcoming space for collaboration.
