Group Manager empowers others to reach their full potential
Miguel Lulli shares his career journey and commitment to fostering growth
Miguel Lulli’s career journey and passion for helping others grow contributed to all of his accomplishments and successes this year. Today, he is an SVP- Group Manager and the Senior General Manager at One South Wacker in Chicago, where he oversees building operations, including a $150M renovation. But what truly gives Miguel a sense of accomplishment is seeing those around him flourish. What started in a small JLL Property Management office in Landover, Maryland when Miguel was still a student at the University of Virginia, turned into a full-time position and his first venture into JLL's dynamic professional world. When his personal life took him to Chicago, JLL facilitated a seamless transition. “I told my D.C. team that I wanted to transfer to Chicago and within a week I was meeting with Chicago-area Regional Managers and other team leads. The next day, I received an email saying that I was transferring,” Miguel recalls. “It was incredible how I had this mission and people were so supportive in making it happen.” |
Over the next eight years, working with a multitude of clients, teams and properties, Miguel gained invaluable experiences that shaped his professional journey. “I love seeing how JLL has gotten more sophisticated over the years, especially with technology and how it empowers people and provides opportunities for us to do more passion projects at our properties,” he says. |
Miguel has always nurtured ambitions, not just for himself but for his team members. “I want to give my teams the groundwork and exposure they need to raise their hand and be active contributors,” he explains. His passion as a leader was recognized when he won the Manager of the Year award at Management U! 2023, which was even more of a surprise as he received the third of three Manager of the Year awards given out that evening. “Every day, I pour my heart into growing my career, growing my teams’ careers and helping our clients,” he says. “It’s amazing to be recognized for it.” |

This year, One South Wacker also won an International TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) award, a testament to Miguel’s hard work and dedication. Applying for the TOBY awards gave Miguel and his team a new perspective on their building's operations and management, as they scrutinized every detail of the building while preparing for the walkthrough portion of the judging process. “It’s an extensive application but it’s a good opportunity to tell the story of your building and give exposure to our team, especially our engineers, security and janitorial staff.” Recalling the emotions of the International TOBY awards night, Miguel shared, “They started reading the winning entry and I realized that it was ours. It hits you all the sudden that we are one of the best buildings in the world.” In addition to his professional accomplishments, Miguel cherishes the community at JLL the most. His team, mentors, the Property Management team and even his wife, who has been with JLL for 11 years, make the workplace into an extended family with a culture of support, collaboration and celebration. Congratulations to Miguel on an extraordinary year. His successful career trajectory is a true reflection of his positive attitude and heartfelt dedication. |
