Managing Director & Head of Visionary Insights Group

Current responsibilities

Paul leads JLL's newly created Visionary Insights Group. In his role as Managing Director and Head of this new venture, he is responsible for driving growth and producing insights through analytics, strengthening relationships with existing clients, and developing a user-friendly software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to empower JLL clients to generate realtime, actionable, intelligence. JLL's Visionary Insights Group, which is part of JLL’s Retail Advisory Services division, recognized the need to expand their depth of analytic expertise and make those insights more accessible to our clients through a user-friendly cloud-based platform.

Experience

Paul's career began in 1994 in the real estate research department at Blockbuster Entertainment, helping to develop a sales forecasting tool in a geospatial environment during the peak of their global store expansion. From there, he specialized in retail data mining at Sears Roebuck and Co., developing a wide variety of forecasting models for numerous off-mall concepts.

Paul founded Forum Analytics in 2001 to build upon his experience combining complex analytics with cutting-edge mapping technology. Under his leadership, Forum Analytics introduced numerous industry-changing platforms during the dawn of the AI revolution, most notable the Strategic Integrated Mapping and Modelling System (SIMMS), Cannibalytics and Shopographics, the first real estate specific segmentation data product. He sold Forum Analytics in 2015 to CBRE and remained there as a Senior Managing Director and Global Retail Analytics Practice Leader.

Paul holds a Master of Science in Urban Economic Geography and is an Adjunct Professor of Geography at DePaul University in Chicago teaching real estate analytics and geography coursework.
