Senior Director, Mid-Atlantic Research

​​Responsibilities:

Michael Hartnett leads JLL’s research platform for the Mid-Atlantic, specializing in market intelligence, real estate strategy and advisory for investors and occupiers. His role involves delivering insights on real estate and economic activity, market conditions, trends and forecasts, as well as demographics and industry analyses. As a partner to JLL’s service line professionals, including Brokerage, Capital Markets, Project & Development Services and Property Management, Michael advises clients ranging from local occupiers and owners to national/global investors and Fortune 500 companies.

Experience:

Michael joined JLL in 2011 as a Senior Research Analyst to help lead the firm’s national competitive intelligence platform, including analyzing market share, profiling competitors and tracking M&A activity for JLL’s executive leadership. As the competitive intelligence platform evolved, Michael expanded his scope to include strategic planning assessments for local JLL market operations around the country as well, providing market sizing and go-to-market recommendations by interviewing strategic clients and prospects.

Before his current role, Michael led JLL’s Northern Virginia research platform across a range of asset classes, including office, industrial, residential and data centers. He also led JLL’s regional government contractor and technology research. Michael played a key role in growing the local market advisory practice in support of stakeholders such as the Rosslyn and National Landing Business Improvement Districts, in addition to global investors and occupiers.

Michael received a B.A. from the University of Delaware
