Vice Chairman

Michael Berg is a Vice Chairman in JLL’s New York office. With extensive experience on consulting assignments and brokerage transactions for both public agencies and large institutions, he provides a full range of advisory services, including financial structuring, analysis, and participation in leasing and business term negotiations for tenant representation assignments.

Experience

Michael has nearly 20 years of experience with an emphasis on tenant representation, financial services, law firms, consulting and regional strategy. He has provided structuring and financial support for major leasing transactions in the New York Tri-state Region, including headquarters assignments for Bank of New York Mellon, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Discovery Communication, Skadden and White & Case. He also supported the development of New York-area real estate strategies for Barclays and State Street Corporation.

For two years, Michael co-led JLL’s New York Financial Analytics and Advisory Services team. Previously, he was a member of the firm's national Public Institutions consulting practice, for which he was an advisor to multiple public clients, including the U.S.Department of Defense, District of Columbia, New York City Economic Development Corporation, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and the Metropolitan Transit Authority. He has advised on the structuring of multiple ownership sales, as well as on the overall global settlement for the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site, one of the most transformative projects in the United States.

Additionally, Michael supported the MTA in developer negotiations associated with the redevelopment of the 26-acre West Side Yard site, the largest development site in Manhattan.

Prior to joining JLL, Michael served as a development associate for the Division of Facilities and Real Estate Services at the University of Pennsylvania, where he supported strategic real estate analysis, acquisition and development activities. Previously, he worked as a research associate for the Committee for Economic Development, a Washington, DC-based policy organization.
