Current Responsibilities
Matthew Shanahan brings over twenty years of experience and expertise in office and healthcare real estate to his role as Executive Vice President with JLL in Philadelphia. His expert guidance for both landlord and tenant clients makes him a trusted advisor on a variety of matters including corporate relocations, ambulatory care facilities, lease analysis, build-to-suit developments, and distressed asset repositioning. In addition to providing brokerage services to clients, Matt works to expand JLL’s healthcare practice and market share throughout the Philadelphia region.
Experience
Matt’s renowned experience in the healthcare arena is marked by over three million notable transactions for tenants including LabCorp and Trinity Health, and landlords including Nuveen and Brookfield Properties. Matt’s knowledge of the unique real estate needs of healthcare clients and his scholarly background in combining real estate, engineering, construction, and law serve as the backbone to the exceptional value he brings to each assignment.
Matt’s career in real estate began with Colliers International where he served in roles as Senior Vice President and Senior Managing Director from 1999-2022. During this time, he earned recognitions including CoStar’s Top 20 Office Leasing Broker, TriState Realtors Commercial Alliance Leasing Award, and Colliers’ 2011 Largest Office Transaction of the Year.
Education & Affiliations
Matt earned a BBA with dual majors in Real Estate and Business Law from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and completed continued studies in Development, Taxation and Real Estate Finance from Temple’s Real Estate Institute. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a member of Urban Land Institute and CoreNet Global. He serves as a Board Member for the Sunday Love Project and the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center.
