Current responsibilities

Mark Zettl leads the JLL’s National Property Management practice in America. Working with global, national and regional leadership, Mark will focus on maintaining, enhancing and growing client relationships across the property management platform. He is also head of the firm’s receivership practice for all asset types including: office, industrial, retail, hotels, land, multifamily, healthcare and senior housing.

Experience

Mark has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality and real estate operations.  Mark joined Waterton in 2008, and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Waterton's portfolio of properties. He had direct oversight of the property management divisions of their residential and hospitality platforms. In addition to managing operations, design, construction, sales and marketing, he also participated on Waterton's leadership and investment committees.

While at Waterton, Mark founded Ultima, a hospitality company that is now fully merged with the Waterton platform. After fully merging with the Waterton platform, the company was responsible for 13 hotels and was a Top 50 Management Company in the U.S.

Before his time at Waterton, Mark was Vice President of Operations for two Chicago-based hotel companies, whose properties included Doubletree, Radisson, Marriott and InterContinental, and was Director of Franchise Services for InterContinental Hotel Group. During his tenure at IHG, he played an instrumental role in developing the Holiday Inn Express brand and oversaw new hotel openings across North America.

Mark received a bachelor of science degree in Hotel and Resort Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
