Senior Managing Director, Capital Markets
Kellogg Gaines joined Jones Lang LaSalle in April of 2011 as a member of the York/North East region of the Real Estate Investment Banking Group. His team focuses on raising debt and equity for national institutional accounts as well as owners and acquirers of commercial real estate based in the region.
Mr. Gaines has over 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry including 15 years with leading Wall Street firms overseeing the origination of over $20 billion of commercial real estate loans. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr. Gaines was co-founder of Glacier Global Partners, LLC; a boutique real estate investment firm focused on debt and equity investments. Previous to Glacier Global Partners, LLC, Mr. Gaines held the position of Executive Director at Eurohypo AG, at the time the world’s largest real estate investment bank, responsible for an 11 person team focused on originating commercial real estate loans for securitization, syndication and on-book executions. He was involved in all aspects of the origination process from sourcing loan opportunities to underwriting, structuring, closing and securitization or syndication, as well as distribution of subordinate debt positions.
Prior to Eurohypo, Mr. Gaines was a Senior Director in charge of originations for the CMBS Capital Markets Group at Nomura Securities, International. In that capacity, Mr. Gaines oversaw all aspects of the origination process and was instrumental in building the CMBS origination platform from the ground up. During his career at Nomura, the group grew from $0 to $4 billion in annual originations for its newly formed CMBS platform. Other positions held by Mr. Gaines included Senior Vice President at PaineWebber/UBS and Vice President at Citicorp Securities. At both firms, his mandate was to build a CMBS origination platform where previously none had existed. Both platforms grew into thriving businesses within a very short period of time. Prior to Citicorp, Mr. Gaines spent 8 years with Phillips Realty Capital in Washington DC where he held the positions of: Analyst, Associate, Loan Officer and Vice President for the regional commercial mortgage banking firm.
