Description
Karen Shea is a Senior Managing Director in the Vienna, VA office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas, specializing in Multi-Housing debt and agency financing. She is a member of JLL Capital Markets, Americas leadership team, officer of JLL Real Estate Capital and co-leads the Fannie Mae DUS platform. With over 30 years of agency experience, she possesses extensive knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily products, including conventional, affordable housing, student housing, manufactured housing, and senior housing. Karen currently serves on the Fannie Mae DUS Advisory Council and holds the position of Chair for the Fannie Mae Originations subcommittee. Notably, she previously held the chair position for the Fannie Mae Chief Underwriter’s subcommittee from 2008 to 2010, as well as the Fannie Mae Guide Update subcommittee in 2022. Karen has been with JLL and its predecessors since 2009.
Prior to joining JLL, Karen worked as a Managing Director of risk policy and Chief Underwriter at Centerline Capital Group, where she oversaw Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac credit underwriting. Additionally, in 2007/2008, she served as a director of risk policy for the affordable LIHTC program. Karen has also held positions at American Property Financing, Inc. and AMI Capital, Inc., both of which were later acquired by Wells Fargo. During her tenure at these companies, she focused on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debt financing.
