Current responsibilities:
Josh Toothman is the Regional Engineering Manager for the West Region. Josh provides technical expertise and operational support to various business units including; Markets, Industrial, LaSalle Investment Management, and Project Development Services. He is responsible for providing an operational “safety net” by ensuring that properties are in compliance with the Operational Compliance Program. He provides technical expertise and support to new business efforts, is involved in supplying property start-up, engineering direction and assistance.
Experience:
Josh has been in engineering management for 19 years and began with JLL in 2013. Prior to coming to JLL, he spent nine years with ABM Facility Services. He was the company Subject Matter Expert for critical environments, as well as serving as National Director for the Engineering Services group.
He has considerable expertise with commercial real estate and IFM, with additional experience in data center operations, critical environments, bio-tech and pharmaceutical facilities. Josh has a deep understanding of ENERGY STAR and worked with local utility companies to provide programs to JLL’s portfolio. He moderated a panel for BOMA titled, “From the Boiler Room to the Board Room”. He brought together leaders from the industry to show an inside perspective on operating a successful facility.
Education and Affiliations:
Josh has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon Institute of Technology, where he also received a minor in international relations. He is 40-hour HAZWOPER trained, EPA/CFC certified, and has completed advanced coursework through UC Berkeley Extension, Cal State East Bay and various other institutions. Josh is trained in Six Sigma, having completed all Green Belt courses and is Yellow Belt certified. He has also completed advanced coursework with the Reliability Leadership Institute and the Uptime Elements Academy.
He has been a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE), International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and completed serving a third term as Treasurer for California Chapter 15 of AFE. He also sits on the BOMA San Francisco Codes Committee.
