Current responsibilities
Jeff Szczapa is a Managing Director in the Midtown office of JLL. Recognized industrywide as an expert in supporting institutional clients with portfolio strategy and executing large scale and complex real estate transactions globally. Jeff is responsible for tenant representation assignments which include new business development and implementation.
Experience
Jeff has 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Previous to 2019, Jeff was a Regional Director for our Corporate Solutions group in New York City. Jeff joined the team in 2015 as the Transaction Management Lead for Deutsche Bank responsible for their Americas portfolio of 40 locations and 4 million square feet. In 2016, Jeff become the Regional CRM responsible for Transaction Management and Project Management service delivery. Jeff has implemented many strategic and complex projects on behalf Deutsche Bank included delivering portfolio optimization and completion of regional large scale projects in New York including Deutsche Banks HQ lease transaction at 1 Columbus Circle.
Jeff came from Bank of New York Mellon where he was Vice President, responsible for the management and oversight of the bank's international real estate portfolio. In 2014, Jeff co-lead the sale and lease to move the bank's New York City headquarters reducing run rate by $25M and its footprint by 700,000 square feet. Over 2012-2013, Jeff contributed to operation excellence initiatives producing annual run-rate savings of $15.5M.
Prior to joining Bank of New York Mellon in 2010, Jeff was at Kaplan, Inc. for three years where he was Director, Real Estate, managing transactions for the company on the East Coast.
Jeff also held various transaction management, asset management and operations positions for SOVA Investments, Northern Bay Management and CA Technologies.
