Giles Wrench serves as Vice Chairman, Financial Services and Insurance, Americas Markets, leveraging over 25 years of financial services real estate expertise across services and geographies. Giles delivers a personal and data-driven approach to solving complex challenges facing this unique industry. Building on his experience working with the top banking, insurance and investment management firms around the world, Giles is focused on developing a peer knowledge network providing a platform for facilitating conversations on pressing topics facing their organizations.
Guiding discussions with clients beyond best practices, Giles seeks to cultivate a discourse of innovative ideas to further lead the industry into the future and more deeply connect them to top talent, customers, and communities in which they serve. Committed to collaboration and thought leadership, Giles works to ensure clients have access to JLL’s suite of industry-focused research and insights, rooted in unbiased analytics.
Previous experience:
Giles has held a variety of leadership roles within JLL. Most recently, Giles served as Principal within the Solutions Development team focused on the account needs of JLL’s Banking and Financial Services clients in New York City. Giles has supported clients such as: American Express, Blackstone, BNP Paribas, Prudential, Vanguard, and Willis Towers Watson.
Giles previously worked in the banking industry, holding leadership roles in Hong Kong and London including several years at BNP Paribas. At BNP Paribas, Giles led the banks International Corporate Services group in Europe and within the Americas worked alongside the Coverage and Territories International (CTI) group that sits within the banks Corporate and Investment Banking division. Giles was responsible for deepening corporate strategic relationships and finding opportunities to leverage the bank’s real estate services expertise. Earlier in Giles' career he supported the development of a top five banking institution’s real estate needs throughout Asia Pacific while living in Hong Kong.
Education and affiliations:
Giles graduated from the University of Westminster with honors and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate. In 1997, Giles qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) while based in London. After relocating to New York in the late 1990’s, Giles deepened his knowledge of real estate investment principals and techniques through the Finance and Investment program at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.
As a member of CoreNet, Giles is also passionate about using his experience as a member of CoreNet’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to ensure that the conversation of an equitable experience in our industry is top of mind for CoreNet planners and attendees, as well as his clients and JLL team members. Giles also chairs the JLL Banking Executive Forum, which brings together industry leaders to serve as an incubator for conversations surrounding emerging concepts in banking.
