Current responsibilities
Gil Ohls is currently serving as Managing Director in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Connecticut Office after spending the previous 10 years working out of the New York City office. Mr. Ohls works in a multi-market leasing and sales transaction capacity.
Experience
Mr. Ohls is active in the financial services sector, most often with hedge fund and private equity firms such as Millennium Partners, Jump Trading, OneMain Financial, Starwood Capital, Investcorp, General Atlantic and Knight Trading. Mr. Ohls focuses on tenant and landlord representation but has a diversified history of transactions over his 22-year career including buying and selling buildings and land, real estate development and conversion, and repositioning of properties.
During his career, Mr. Ohls was recognized as one of Fairfield County’s “40 Under 40” by the Fairfield County Business Journal. He has completed over 15.4 million square feet of lease transactions and has negotiated an equally substantive amount of commercial sales. In perhaps his most notable transaction, Mr. Ohls was involved in bringing RBS Greenwich Capital Markets’ regional HQ’s of over 500,000 square feet to Stamford, Connecticut as well as the eventual sale of the asset for $163MM in 2019. The building boasts the largest trading floor in the United States.
He has also been honored with Reckson Associates’ “Broker of the Year” award. Mr. Ohls is recognized by his clients and peers for his tireless work ethic, attention to detail, impeccable reputation in the industry and an intensely high level of service.
Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Gil served as a Managing Principal in Newmark Knight Frank’s Connecticut office for 12 years. Prior to that, Mr. Ohls was associated with Natexis Banque, where he was a treasury analyst.

Education and affiliations
Mr. Ohls graduated from Villanova University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He is actively involved in the DART organization (Dana’s Angels Research Trust) and Trinity Church in Greenwich where he serves on the Finance and Real Estate Committees, leads youth groups, and volunteers for many social outreach projects.
