Current responsibilities:
Gary R. Papke is Executive Vice President of JLL Value and Risk Advisory. From 1988 to 2017 he was Senior Vice President of Clarion Associates, Inc., one of the most experienced firms in the United States in the valuation of complex real estate assets. Mr. Papke has more than 35 years of experience in the valuation of essentially every category of commercial and residential real property, with specialized expertise in historic and special purpose properties, natural resources and conservation easements, and evaluation of the impacts of environmental conditions on real estate prices, markets and values. Mr. Papke and Clarion Associates, Inc. merged into JLL in November of 2017.
Experience:
Mr. Papke has analyzed the impacts of environmental contamination and natural disasters on real estate throughout North America, including notable large-scale events such as the Exxon Valdez oil spill, Hurricane Katrina flooding, and the Deepwater Horizon well blow-out in the Gulf of Mexico. He has appraised environmental impacts on industrial, commercial, residential, agricultural, and special purpose properties, ranging in scale from individual properties to large, diversified real estate investment portfolios.
He is the leading expert on the valuation of concessioner-built real estate improvements in the National Park system, beginning with the appraisal of more than 320 structures at the South Rim in Grand Canyon National Park, and continuing over the past two decades with dozens of similar assignments in other national parks, recreation areas, monuments and memorials throughout the National Park system.
Mr. Papke has analyzed historic preservation and conservation easement donations on residential and commercial structures and vacant timber/agricultural land throughout the United States.
Mr. Papke has represented numerous clients in litigation involving complex real estate issues and has been a testifying expert in state and federal courts, before arbitration panels, and in various governmental hearings.
