Group Manager

Current responsibilities
David Hopwood currently serves as the General Manager of Hyatt Center, 71 South Wacker Drive, a 1.7 million square foot, Class A, LEED Platinum, International TOBY Award Winning office property in the Chicago CBD. David also serves as a Group Manager overseeing a portfolio of properties in excess of 3 million square feet.

Experience
David has more than 25 years of experience in property management and leasing, primarily in the Chicago area and predominately representing Ownership.

Prior to his current position, David worked as the General Manager on the start-up of 353 North Clark, a newly completed 1.2 million square foot, LEED Gold property in River North. He started with JLL in 2006 at the 600 acre Cantera development in the western suburbs and was responsible for all property management services within the JLL suburban Chicago office portfolio.

Before joining Jones Lang LaSalle, David spent nearly ten years at Duke Realty Corporation, where he was responsible for all property management related functions in a 51-building, 10 million square foot portfolio of office and industrial properties.
Earlier in his career David served as General Manager of a number of high profile CBD properties including Prudential Plaza, Michigan Plaza, 30 North LaSalle Street, 10 South LaSalle Street and One South Wacker Drive.

Education and affiliations
David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign. He is a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management, a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) Accredited Professional and a licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker.

He also serves on the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA/Chicago) Labor and Taxation Committees, on the Real Estate Action Committee for the City of Hope, as a Volunteer Marshal at the BMW Championship for the Evans Scholar Foundation and as Chairperson for the Western Springs School District 101 School Board Caucus.

His past volunteer leadership positions include serving as a Board Member of the Western Springs Foundation for Educational Excellence and as President of the University of Illinois Alumni Association – Metropolitan Detroit.
