Current responsibilities:

David Berzina serves as Vice President with JLL’s Tenant Representation team in Fort Worth. He is responsible for securing commercial real estate solutions for a variety of clients across North Texas.

David has represented the City of Fort Worth on the recent sale and reuse of the downtown, two-block public library disposition, the acquisition of the former Pier 1 office building purchased by the city to become the new City Hall, and the sale of Tarrant County College’s administration building to Omni Hotels.

With his vast experience, he is able to provide in-depth knowledge and insights to JLL's growing client base, including site selection, economic development strategy and incentive negotiation.

Experience:

For 12 years, David served as the Executive Vice President for Economic Development for the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining the Chamber in 2004, Berzina served for 16 years in management and CEO capacities for chambers of commerce and economic development organizations in Texas, Michigan, and Louisiana.

Over the course of his economic development career, Berzina has been responsible for over 26 million square feet of construction, $6.3 billion in capital investment, 35,000 jobs and over $1.5 billion in annual payroll.

Education:

David is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He is a graduate of the Institute for Organizations Management from the University of Delaware and holds the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). 
In 2013, IEDC awarded Berzina the designation of Fellow Member for “outstanding service to the field of economic development.”

Affiliations:

He has served two terms on the Texas Economic Development Board and will begin his fourth term on the International Economic Development Council board in 2018.

David served on the Inaugural Board of the Las Vegas Trail Rise Board of Directors from 2018 – 2021.

Locally, Berzina has served on the Dallas/Fort Worth Economic Development Marketing Team Executive Committee for 12 years. He served on the inaugural City of Fort Worth Homeless Commission, was appointed by the Mayor to chair the Fort Worth Economic Development Incentive Review Committee in 2016 and also served on the City’s Development Advisory Committee, the City’s Minority and Women’s Business Advisory Council and the board of Fort Worth Sister Cities for 10 years. Berzina has served on the board of Workforce Solutions from 2005 to 2018.

When he’s away from the office, David enjoys golfing, commercial real estate development and spending time with his wife, Kim, son, Christopher, and daughter, Brooke.
