Career Summary:
Dan is the President of Jones Lang LaSalle Securities, LLC (“JLLS”) and Equity Placement Platform Leader in the Los Angeles office of JLL Capital Markets. He joined JLL as part of the HFF acquisition with 27 years of experience in developing and marketing institutional real estate products. His responsibilities include business development, managing client relationships and raising equity capital, in addition to developing the firm’s relationships in Asia and the Middle East, identifying capital and investors looking for global diversification.
Prior to joining HFF, Dan was a Partner and Managing Director at Chadwick Saylor. He has also served as a Senior Vice President at Aldrich, Eastman, Waltch and as a President at Real Asset Management Inc., an affiliate of Dimensional Fund Advisors and the RREEF Funds. He also founded and served as Chairman and CEO of RealEnergy, a clean-tech energy firm focused on the real estate industry.
Dan has served on the Board of The U.S. Green Building Council during the initial creation of the LEED certification standards. In 2007, he was asked by former Vice President Al Gore to be among those invited to discuss Climate Change and Sustainability as part of Mr. Gore’s Inconvenient Truth “presenters” program. Dan has authored numerous articles relating to real estate investment and finance. He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, a Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and has also served as the chairman of the ULI Center for Sustainability. He travels frequently to Asia and speaks conversational Mandarin.
