Senior Managing Director and Broker Lead, Los Angeles Region

​Charlie Smith is a Managing Director and the Broker Lead for JLL's Los Angeles Brokerage practice where he oversees the business operations of the Agency Leasing, Tenant Representation, and Industrial teams throughout downtown Los Angeles, Inland Empire, West Los Angeles, South Bay and North Los Angeles. His primary focus is on new and innovative growth initiatives by managing internal business line integration, communications, revenue and resources. This involves strategic business planning and direction, team structure and productivity evaluation, and the development of best practices across all service lines to deliver quality client experiences. Charlie collaborates with other JLL leadership to ensure all teams are comprised of high performing talent and are retained through mentorship, training and career development.

Experience

With 20 years of commercial real estate experience, Charlie has worked in the Los Angeles market for the duration of his career which has led to his extensive knowledge and insight of the local market and submarkets. 

Prior to joining JLL, Charlie was the Regional Director of Leasing with Equity Office Properties where he oversaw leasing for the firm's west side portfolio, consisting of four million rentable square feet. By deploying successful marketing and leasing strategies, Charlie completed transactions with over two million rentable square feet in volume in less than four years.

Charlie also served as the Vice President of Leasing with Thomas Properties Group, where he played an integral role within a team that was responsible for negotiating two million rentable square feet in leasing contracts and facilitated fifteen million dollars in capital improvements to retail property.

Bachelor of Arts in History, University of California, Los Angeles.
