Current Responsibilities
Brian Hughes is a Managing Director in JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group based in Dallas. Mr. Hughes is involved in the marketing of individual select and full-service hotels and portfolio transactions.
Experience
Mr. Hughes initiated his hospitality sector experience when joining Remington Hotel Corporation in 1995. Working through various departments including Acquisitions, Construction Accounting and Asset Management, he then joined Ashford Hospitality Trust subsequent to the successful IPO in 2003. Since taking a deal-focused role with the newly created public REIT, Mr. Hughes was instrumental in growing the platform from 6 initial assets to over 140 at its peak. Tasked with acquisitions, dispositions and mezz originations, Mr. Hughes has been involved in over $5 billion in transactions in his career. His most recent role was Senior Vice President - Real Estate Investments at Ashford Inc., which included advising Ashford Hospitality Trust and the luxury focused REIT, Braemar Hotels & Resorts.
Education
Mr. Hughes is a graduate of The Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University and holds an M.B.A. focused on real estate finance from The Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
