Current responsibilities
Ben Hestir serves as a Project Management Director for the Environmental Practice of JLL Value and risk advisory.
He manages the generation of due diligence reports, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and others and serves as a senior reviewer and client manager.
Experience
Mr. Hestir has 29 years of experience as a corporate environmental health & safety manager and as an environmental/industrial hygiene consultant for the commercial and multifamily real estate industry.
During his tenure in the real estate industry, he has procured, reviewed or written hundreds of due diligence reports.
His specialties include the management of due diligence report generation and environmental risk management associated with indoor air quality related to asbestos, lead-based paint and mold.
He has extensive experience presenting training classes for his clients on environmental risk topics related to real estate acquisition due diligence and indoor air quality regulations.
He has worked extensively in both the hazardous waste management and industrial hygiene fields especially as they impact commercial and multifamily real estate owners and managers.
Education and affiliations
Mr. Hestir has a Master’s degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from Clemson University and is a licensed professional engineer in the environmental category in South Carolina and Georgia.
He is also licensed as an asbestos inspector in South Carolina.
