Managing Director, Capital Markets
Austin Johnson is a Managing Director and co-head of the Structured Finance Group of JLL Securities. With more than 14 years of experience, Mr. Johnson specializes in the origination and structuring of private capital raising and real estate investment banking services to developers, owners and occupiers of commercial real estate across all asset classes with a primary focus on CTLs, structured lease-backed securities and ground lease financings in addition to providing investment opportunities for institutional fixed income investors.
Utilizing his prior experience in the municipal bond sector, he also focuses on the financing of public-private partnership (P3) transactions within the healthcare, higher education and municipal government sectors, among others.
Throughout the course of Mr. Johnson’s career, he has executed $9 billion of transactions across all asset types. Before joining JLL, he worked within the Fixed Income Investment Banking Division of Raymond James. During his tenure, he facilitated in the structuring and underwriting of over $2 billion in municipal bond transactions for numerous bond structures including lease securitizations, economic development projects, tax increment financings as well as general obligation and revenue secured bonds.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Johnson received his MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and his BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Christian Brothers University. He holds the Series 24, 7, 63 and 50 securities licenses.
