Alexander Quinn

Senior Director, Northern California Research

Current responsibilities:

Based in San Francisco, Alexander is the Senior Director of Research in Northern California. Mr. Quinn leads commercial real estate research efforts for JLL’s Northern California region, providing insights on prevailing commercial real estate demand, regional economic dynamics, and shifting business behavior that shape our built environment.

Mr. Quinn has advised developers, building owners, and tenants on site selection, building recommendations, amenity packages, and strike price for office, lab, research and development, and multifamily projects in Northern California. Mr. Quinn also develops the North American tech report which identifies the top 30 markets for tech companies in the U.S. and Canada.

Experience:

Prior to joining JLL, Mr. Quinn was the Director of Sustainable Economics for Hatch where he provided sustainable return on investment analyses, triple bottom line analysis, and cost – benefit analyses for infrastructure and development projects across the globe. Mr. Quinn has served as expert testimony to the U.S. Congress on infrastructure investments and their downstream impacts to economic growth. He has also worked on multiple feasibility studies for clients in the Bay Area, including the finance plan for resiliency investments for coastal zones under threat from sea level rise. He has also worked on numerous international development projects in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.

Education and affiliations:

Mr. Quinn is a part-time professor at University of California, Berkeley where he teaches market analysis methods in the Masters of Real Estate Development program. He received his Masters degree in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Outside interests:

Mr. Quinn is an avid skier and cyclist but spends most of his time with his two children ferrying them to soccer practice and musical performances.
