Tulip Interfaces Global HQ and DMG MORI subsidiary to open in Assembly Row
JLL led leasing efforts for the companies’ expansion in Somerville’s advanced manufacturing and operational innovation hubs
Today, JLL announced that Tulip Interfaces and DMG MORI leased a total of 39,835 square feet at Assembly Row in Somerville, Massachusetts. Tulip Interfaces leased 30,312 square feet for its global headquarters and the Tulip Experience Center for interactive demonstrations. DMG MORI leased 9,523 square feet for subsidiary space in the northeast region.
“Locating their headquarters in what was once manufacturing space connects Assembly Row to its historic roots and is a significant validation of the dynamic Somerville ecosystem,” said Patrick McMahon, SVP, Federal Realty. "The mix of retail, residential, office and essential uses here presents a compelling case for employers to locate in the neighborhood and allow homegrown Somerville companies to stay in the city as they expand. Tulip joins other thriving businesses in choosing a terrific environment for their employees which will help them retain critical talent especially in this tight labor market."
“Connection to people and amplifying the benefits of a strong ‘cluster’ is critical for companies seeking expansion within the tough tech ecosystem,” said Robert Jangro, Managing Director at JLL. “With state-of-the-art office and R&D space in the highly coveted Somerville neighborhood complete with multimodal transportation accessibility, retail amenities, and greenspace - Assembly Row offers just that.”
The Offices at Assembly Row offer tenants a mix of office, life science, and world-class amenities that companies gravitate towards. Assembly Row features 800k+ square feet of retail and amenities, over 25 dining options, and daily fitness classes, all connected to a 6-acre riverfront park. Focused on connectivity, Assembly Row is only seven minutes from downtown Boston, with a dedicated MBTA station, easy access to 1-93 and ample parking.
Robert Jangro and Brian Flaherty of JLL represented Tulip Interfaces and DMG MORI in the site selection and lease negotiation processes. The JLL team leading the leasing of the Offices at Assembly Row is comprised of Senior Managing Directors Tucker Hansen and Benjamin Coffin.
