Panorama Holdings to develop new mixed-use tower at Ballantyne Village

14-story tower to include hotel, office space and rooftop restaurant

July 22, 2019

Charlotte, N.C, July 22, 2019 – Panorama Holdings is pleased to announce a new mixed-use development that will heighten the skyline of Ballantyne. The company officially broke ground on July 16 and will start construction in August on a 14-story tower within Ballantyne Village that will include an AC Hotel by Marriott, new Class A office space, a rooftop restaurant and bar.

A first in Ballantyne, Panorama Tower will be located at 14819 Ballantyne Village Way and will include the 186-room AC Hotel by Marriott (floors 1-7) and roughly 100,000 square feet of Class A office space (floors 8-14). Hotel guests and tenants will enjoy a full array of urban-style amenities at their doorstep as well as a 14th floor rooftop restaurant that will feature indoor and outdoor seating with sensational views of Ballantyne, stretching to uptown Charlotte. The restaurant and bar setting will have the highest elevation available outside of the uptown market. Separate ground-level hotel and office lobbies will add to the distinctive design.

AC Hotels, a Marriott design-driven lifestyle brand, will anchor the project. Ballantyne Village will be the brand’s seventh location in North Carolina and its third location in Charlotte alongside the newly opened AC Hotel Charlotte City Center above the Epicentre in uptown and the AC Hotel in SouthPark under construction. This unique hotel brand combines modern design elements, European inspiration and customized local influence to provide a unique hospitality experience to the business and leisure traveler. The AC Hotel lobby is a comfortable café and productive co-working environment by day and a chic lounge with a custom bar by night. The AC Hotel will provide a new twist in travel for the Ballantyne area.

“Our goal with Panorama Tower is to enhance and differentiate,” says Jane Wu, president of Panorama Holdings. “The AC Hotel, our stunning office design and the rooftop restaurant will bring new and exciting options to one of the strongest submarkets in the country.”

Hotel guests and office tenants will enjoy more than 20 different restaurants and cafes at Ballantyne Village along with many additional retail conveniences that will enhance culture, productivity and enjoyment. With dedicated elevators, 20,000-square-foot office floorplates,13-foot ceiling heights and expansive glass, Panorama Tower will appeal to office users seeking a new and refined experience. Tenants will enjoy superb natural light and unobstructed views that will highlight the modern and efficient space. Highly visible corporate signage atop the building is also available.

Panorama Tower will include over 3,000 square feet of board room and meeting space. Panorama Holdings is targeting an opening date in early 2021, and preleasing of the tower’s office space is underway, led by Charley Leavitt, Managing Director with JLL.

“The office portion of this building is already in demand,” says Leavitt. “Panorama Tower is a gem for any group that desires a unique new workspace in a walkable, amenity-rich setting.”

As part of the development, Panorama Holdings will add over three levels to the existing parking deck at 14735 Ballantyne Village Way, creating almost 400 new parking spaces for guests and tenants at Panorama Tower and expanding the deck’s total capacity to almost 1,000 spaces.

The JLL PDS group manages projects of all sizes worldwide including hospitality, office, industrial, retail, multifamily, healthcare and institutional buildings. The architect is The RBA Group, which was also the architectural group for the RailYard project in South End, and the civil engineer is Orsborn Engineering Group, both based in Charlotte.
