Macy’s expands in San Diego area with small-format store
JLL secures lease at Santee Trolley Square in Santee, California
SAN DIEGO, September 7, 2023 –– Confirming the continued evolution of retail, JLL announced today that Macy’s has signed a 30,000-square-foot lease for a small-format store at Santee Trolley Square located at 9918 Mission Gorge Road in Santee, California. Macy’s small format stores are designed to deliver a seamless experience with well-known market brands, Macy’s private brands, convenient services, local events and the latest trends, all within an easy-to-shop environment. The new store is scheduled to open in November 2023.

JLL’s Brian Quinn and Bryan Cunningham secured this lease on behalf of the landlord, Kimco Realty Corporation. Dave Hagglund and Andrew Roth of CBRE represented Macy’s.

Santee Trolley Square is a 440,000 square foot power center located on 44.5 acres. It is ideally located just north of Interstate 8 and SR-52 freeways and is integrated with the east line of the San Diego MTS Trolley system, which connects to El Cajon, La Mesa and San Diego.
