HOUSTON, Dec. 15, 2022 – JLL announced today that Executive Managing Director Louis Rosenthal will be the new lead for JLL’s Energy and Renewables practice group. Rosenthal will succeed International Director Bruce Rutherford, who will retire from JLL at the end of a 40-year career with the company.

Rutherford first joined JLL in 1983 and is a well-known authority on the energy industry, having led JLL’s global Energy and Renewables practice group for the past nine years. Throughout his storied career, he has opened and led several new geographies and businesses in North America, as well as having initiated, designed and led tenant representation in the Asia-Pacific region and being instrumental in JLL’s merger with The Staubach Company. As an advisor and broker, he has negotiated more than 40 million square feet of corporate and regional headquarters and various corporate site selections.

“It’s been my pleasure to spend the last four decades at JLL building teams and partnering with the best people in the industry,” Rutherford said. “Louis has deep experience in representing and advising companies in the energy, renewables and utilities industries, and I know our clients are in good hands.”

Rosenthal will become Director/National Leader – Energy and Renewables beginning January 1, 2023. An industry veteran with more than 35 years, he has spent the past 23 years with JLL focusing on tenant representation. Based in Houston, Rosenthal will lead a team that advises the energy, renewables and utilities industries on how to optimize their real estate portfolios. This includes providing the latest technology and support tools necessary to develop a new workplace essential to retaining and attracting talent.

“I’m honored to succeed Bruce in leading JLL’s Energy and Renewables practice group,” Rosenthal added. “Bruce has spent almost 20 years focused on the energy industry and contributing to JLL’s overall growth. I am confident that the foundation he built will allow us to continue to bring value and success to our clients.”
