JLL strengthens government and higher education practice with strategic addition

Steve Garven selected to lead JLL Public Institutions efforts in Texas

AUSTIN, May 31, 2018 – JLL announced today the addition of business development expert Steve Garven to grow and strengthen partnerships with government and higher education sectors throughout Texas on behalf of JLL’s growing client base.

In his new role as Vice President, Public Institutions, Garven will work closely with clients and stakeholders to establish and strengthen partnerships with government entities, as well as public and private colleges and universities, by utilizing his extensive professional network and scope of knowledge. He will also be tasked with developing long-term real estate solutions to achieve client goals, ensuring they achieve their respective business ambitions.

Garven brings over 20 years of business development, marketing and strategic planning experience, having worked with startups to Fortune 500 companies. He comes from Flex Ventures, a venture capital firm focusing on financial technology, real estate and consumer goods industries. Prior, Steve was a principal at two nationally recognized marketing firms having landed and worked with several respected clients, including W Hotels, Hyatt, State of Texas, Charles Schwab, Ascension Health and Major League Baseball.

Garven began his career in the public sector working with the United States Senate and moved to the Texas Comptroller’s office, serving as a liaison for the state’s investment fund for local government entities.
