June 11, 2019

Portland, Ore, June 11, 2019 – JLL Portland, a global leader in commercial real estate services, announced the promotion of Cayla Wardenburg to vice president of the firm’s technology practice. Wardenburg joins Niall Travers and Eric Turner as co-leaders of the technology practice in partnership with Craig Reinhart and Chris Elsenbach.

“In Cayla’s nearly seven years at JLL, she has been a tremendous asset for our clients,” Reinhart said. “She joins Niall and Eric in our technology practice leadership team where each have managed some of the largest and most complex projects for Oregon’s leading technology companies, repeatedly impressing our clients”

Kate Johnson, CEO of Act-on Software said “Cayla’s continued leadership and guidance on our headquarters lease negotiations has been exceptional. Cayla is a trusted advisor and her promotion within JLL and recognition within our technology community is well deserved.”

Support from the technology practice co-leads will enable Reinhart and Elsenbach to further scale our business representing emerging and leading technology companies as well as better serve broader occupier client’s headquarters projects and global corporate portfolios.

JLL collaborates with clients to deliver workplace strategies that maximize productivity and employee engagement, which have become critically important across industries as companies focus on attracting and retaining talent.

“We are proactive in looking at the future of the tech industry from all angles: workplaces of tomorrow, effective growth strategies, access to talent and more,” Wardenburg said. “Together, we take a holistic approach that enables clients to find the best ways to leverage their real estate to remain agile and fuel innovation.”

JLL’s soon to be released National Technology Report shows that technology companies benefit from a deeper understanding of trends and leading indicators within the sector.

“Simply taking the data at face value isn’t sufficient anymore,” said Travers, managing director and technology practice co-lead. “As commercial real estate and the tech sector continue to evolve, we are looking forward and around corners to add unique value in a long-term advisory role with our clients.”

Joe Smurdon, market director at JLL Portland, said the co-leaders of JLL’s tech practice are driven by a relentless focus on clients and a passion for the tech industry.

“I look forward to the rollout of their playbook for continued success, which is truly measured by our clients’ success,” Smurdon said. “Our clients make us great, but this team is special. With Niall, Eric, and Cayla as technology practice co-leaders, the future is bright.”
