JLL Des Moines hires additional research analyst

Des Moines, Iowa, February 5, 2019 – In today’s fast-paced world, data can be the difference between a client having the necessary tools to secure a profitable sale or lease transaction and not being able to represent that client at all. “Commercial real estate has always been a data game, but our clients are expecting us to utilize technology and provide more data points than ever before,” said Eric Land, a newly promoted Research Manager at JLL Des Moines.

With Eric’s promotion comes a new hire: Lucas Hedstrom is a recent graduate of University of Northern Iowa, where he double majored in finance and real estate. He’s joined the team as a Research Analyst, championing the company’s proprietary proptech platform to better serve our clients.

His first order of business will be to immerse himself in JLL’s Blackbird program, a 3D-mapping web application and methodology that utilizes layers of real estate data and imagery to customize an interactive experience to client requirements. This tool helps the team and clients filter through options, reduce travel and costs and access real-time market data in a virtual environment—all without leaving the office.

Hedstrom brings real-life real estate experience to the team, most recently interning with Situs Real Estate Research Corporation, where he was responsible for engaging in appraisal management and valuation consulting services, analyzing quarterly appraisals, budgets and capital expenditures, reviewing valuation approaches and analyzing executive summaries, cash flows and performing portfolio analytics.

With Lucas on board, we can continue to meet our clients’ expectations, get our data out to the market faster and continue to be the leader of technology in commercial real estate,” said Marcus R. Pitts, Managing Director.

Hedstrom is the second new team member to join JLL this year. He joins recent hire Aaron A. Hyde, who heads up the retail practice in Iowa.
