JLL Atlanta Names Tim McCarthy Atlanta Region Market Director
Mike Sivewright retires after 25-year-long career at the firm
JLL Atlanta has appointed Tim McCarthy Atlanta Region Market Director following the retirement of Mike Sivewright on March 31. McCarthy most recently served as Atlanta Brokerage Lead. The Atlanta Brokerage Lead role will be filled by Ryanne Pennington, the first woman to take on that position in the Atlanta office. McCarthy and Pennington transitioned to their new roles on April 1.
“With decades of experience at our firm and proven track records of success within Atlanta’s commercial real estate community, Tim and Ryanne are well positioned to lead the firm, and continue building on the growth our market has seen in recent years,” said Mike Sivewright, former Atlanta Region Market Director. “I am confident the Atlanta region will continue to thrive, grow, set new records and be the best place to work under Tim and Ryanne’s leadership.”
McCarthy, who has been with JLL for 21 years and served as Atlanta Brokerage Lead since early 2020, will provide overall regional leadership focused on supporting existing client accounts, developing new business opportunities and enterprise management across all service lines. An active member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, McCarthy has been named a Top 10 Producer and has received the Phoenix Award, which celebrates more than 10 years in the Board’s Million Dollar Club.
McCarthy began his career in the corporate arena with AT&T, and he later moved to Staubach, which was acquired by JLL in 2008. Through his 21-year career, he has successfully completed millions of square feet of office lease transactions across the globe.
“I’m tremendously proud of what JLL Atlanta has accomplished under Mike’s leadership over the last decade,” McCarthy added. “JLL has a strong reputation among our clients, associates and the real estate community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to build upon this foundation as we come out of the challenging dynamics of the past two years. Our north star has always been serving our clients and our people, and I am proud to lead this incredible team in the next phase of our journey as an organization.”
Pennington, who most recently served as a Managing Director on the tenant representation team, will transition to Brokerage Lead for the Atlanta office, bringing more than 15 years of experience to the role. During her tenure, she has served in many local and national leadership roles for JLL, including President of the Women’s Business Network, led the National Broker Bootcamp training program, and has served as President of JLL’s Leadership Council Advisory Board for the last two years. Currently, she serves on the Brokerage Executive Committee (BEC) and is co-lead of one of the BEC’s five priorities. Externally, she also serves as a board member for OnBoard Inc., the leading authority on women in the boardroom and a catalyst to increase female directors and executive officers at public and private companies.
Prior to joining JLL, Pennington began her career at VeenendaalCave, Inc., an interior architectural planning firm specializing in corporate office design. She joined JLL in 2012 and was recently recognized as a Top 10 Producer in the 2022 Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club under the office tenant category. Additionally, over the past ten years, she has been honored with various JLL awards including the Top Gun and Gold Achiever awards, Rising Star Award, National Diversity and Inclusion Award and Catalyst Award.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to help impact and influence not only our team, but also the market as we continue to innovate and provide market-leading client services,” added Pennington. “JLL has the perfect balance of entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and a client-focused mindset that allows us to deliver exceptional results across the globe. We have worked very hard and will continue to build on our inclusive culture for our teammates and create best-in-class training for our next generation of talent. I’m honored to lead our Atlanta-based brokerage team through its next stage of growth.”
