Jackson County Hospital District acquires former medical facility in Edna, Texas

Houston, Nov. 16, 2020 – JLL announced the successful sale of a 5,523-square-foot, medical property in Edna, Texas, on behalf of the seller today. The former DaVita Dialysis Center, located at 1008 North Wells Street, was acquired by the Jackson County Hospital District.

 “The purchase of this medical office building will provide a permanent home for the hospital district’s Home Health and Emergency Medical Services,” district CEO Bill Jones said. “It has much of the infrastructure we need and at a cost far less than building our own facility. It’s a good investment for the citizens of Jackson County.”

JLL Executive Vice President Donna Kolius, Senior Vice President Pierce Owens and Associate Becca Dale represented the seller, BOSCO, LLC.

“The demand for healthcare space continues to grow across our region,” said Kolius. “We’re glad to have played a role in this facility’s transition to the Jackson County Hospital District.”

According to JLL’s Healthcare Real Estate Outlook, COVID-19 has accelerated trends for delivery of healthcare and changed the expectations of the patient-provider relationship. Operators are increasingly looking to maximize convenience by positioning themselves as near as possible to the consumer. An increase is also expected in facilities that emphasize wellness, prevention and a healthy lifestyle.
