Bitewell opens new Denver Innovation Lab HQ
Creator of the “digital food farmacy” moves into a 14,000-square-foot space to provide new home for nutrition intelligence development
DENVER – Sept. 19, 2023 – bitewell, the first-ever “digital food farmacy,” announced the upcoming relocation of its Denver-based business headquarters, slated for September 2023. As bitewell grows, they are expanding into a new headquarters that will serve as an Innovation Lab for both internal team members and outside guests who are curious about what “food as healthcare” looks like in action.
JLL’s Guy Lachman and Trevor Curtis represented bitewell, while JLL’s James Roupp, Julie Rhoades, and Maddy Stevenson represented the landlord. The property is managed by Cole Taylor.
The 14,000 square-foot facility, located at The Hub North, boasts 270-degree views of the Denver landscape and is outfitted with features that enable the bitewell team to fulfill their mission of improving the world’s health through food. Approximately 35% of the space is set aside for events and content creation, allowing bitewell to host conferences, webinars, networking events, and more. The remaining space is outfitted with:
- A wellness lab for employee preventative healthcare
- A fully functional kitchen with a range top
- “Mini food farmacies” equipped with bitewell’s proprietary FoodHealth Score (FHS) technology in every room
- Stadium seating to allow spectator viewing for creative food-as-medicine content production, live food demos, and more
“It’s imperative that our space embodies our mission and ethos. We believe in preventative healthcare,” remarked co-founder and CEO, Samantha Citro Alexander. “Our goal is to transform healthcare from a sick care system to a well-care system with a focus on food-as-medicine. Our new headquarters will be a functional case study that showcases how the bitewell mission can come to life inside any company and any facility.”
Like many new startups, bitewell was born at the height of the pandemic in June 2020 and was completely remote for two years. Establishing an intentional, in-person work environment was crucial for bitewell to enter into the growing foodhealth category and food-as-medicine movement. With the opening of its new facility, bitewell will continue to embrace a hybrid work structure.

With consumers’ personal health needs expanding far beyond just food choices or weight loss goals, the bitewell team quickly identified the need for developing advanced technology with a focus on nutrition intelligence. bitewell will implement its signature FoodHealth Score (FHS) feature at HQ, providing each guest, employee, and employer with a unique Score at the end of their visit. The FoodHealth Score encourages users to buy food from its digital food farmacy based on customized and unique recommendations - incorporating allergies, medical conditions, diet/lifestyle needs, health goals, and cultural preferences.
