Managing Director – JLL Romania, Romania
This International Women’s Day and every day, we are proud to recognize our inspiring women leaders and allies at JLL.
Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
Angela Merkel is my female inspiration — the understated strength and composure to lead in a man dominated world, to take decisions and stand by them, to fight for balance and understanding while not building a personality cult but building a nation. I also admire the longevity in the position and what I see as determination to serve her country — it cannot have been easy.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
We are stronger if we work within our differences. If we only nurture and accept one type of employee, we will not be understanding the full picture in our society, business, personal and professional life. Having diversity gives us the competitive edge. It is that simple. Call it a business decision.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
We are fortunate to live in a society that has promoted women in professional careers for at least three generations so our young women are already determined, ambitious and courageous. The only thing that remains for me to do is nurture their talents, encourage them to aspire to achieve their full potential, take note of their professional inclinations and make sure that they take advantage of all the opportunities a company like JLL can offer them while promoting work-life balance, making sure they feel protected in their choices to start a family in parallel to their career.
