Poliana Brandão
Head of Digital Solutions, Latin America, Brazil
This International Women’s Day and every day, we are proud to recognize our inspiring women leaders and allies at JLL.
Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
My sister, Luana, is an inspiration to me. She works very hard, is always positive about life and always goes after what she wants. Luana works and studies and looks after her son with a positive energy. She has been through some hard times but that never let her down or lose her faith. She is always seeking to learn something new and learn from her mistakes and always open to help others. She makes my eyes shine. Luana is an amazing, strong woman and I am very proud of her.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
We can achieve much more when we have different views, thoughts and feelings all together. Through inclusion, we can build better solutions and we can better understand our clients and their own differences. How can we promote innovation with the same mindset? I don’t think we can, we will only be able to innovate if we hear different voices and minds.
We don’t need to set low barriers for those which are not represented but we need to let them show their talents without looking at our gender, skin color, weight and so on.
Not everyone has the same opportunities; not everyone feels that they can do more or reach their dreams because they don’t feel represented or looked at. Everyone should have the opportunity to have a career. It is not only about creating opportunities but also about preparing them to reach their goals.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
Because I am a leader, many women have reached out to me asking about the paths and decisions I made and I try to coach them as much as I can. Right now, I am coaching a facility assistant for an account and has been very inspiring. I wish I could mentor more; I always encourage JLL women to go after their career goals.
