Malwina Reinstein
JBS, EMEA Finance & Accounting Director, Poland
This International Women’s Day and every day, we are proud to recognize our inspiring women leaders and allies at JLL.
Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
I wanted to give one name, and then realized it would not be fair/true as I’m being inspired by different women who focus on their professional career and at the same time are mothers, single mothers and partners, and also by women who decide to stay at home with the kids. All of us has so much to offer and share with other women — experience and challenges, and the latter can be always viewed as opportunities. I am inspired by my Mum and by my colleagues at JLL and other women leaders I have had the opportunity to meet.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
Inclusion matters as it ensures diversity of view and ideas, creates safe environments of success, a sense of belonging, and enables people to feel part of the company’s successes. At the same time from practical point of view, it translates into every day, small things like meetings in the organization, office space organization, or access to information.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
I always encourage my female colleagues to be curious and understand the business in as much depth as possible. Absolutely seek out cross-functional opportunities and embrace challenges and do not wait to be ready or to be asked. Consider whether you are over-indexing your effort and how you can contribute to shaping the future, be it by refining a process, creating a successor within your team, or looking for opportunities to share best practices. I do underline that at JLL, it is possible to combine a professional and private life and keep balance; I’m a mum of 14-month-old daughter. JLL is a company that is giving such great opportunities. I’ve been offered the position of JBS, EMEA Finance and Accounting Director being already pregnant. JLL decided to wait six months for me and hire an interim external person to run the teams; this is really a unique and exceptional case.
