CEO, Capital Markets, EMEA
Matthew oversees the part of the business that helps clients plan, develop and carry out their real estate investment strategies.
A JLL veteran, he joined in 1998 after completing his Masters in Land Management. He worked his way across every aspect of Capital Markets, before being promoted to lead the whole business in 2017. He also has oversight of JLL in the Nordics and Switzerland, and the EMEA Valuations function.
As real estate grows as an asset class and attracts more investment, clients need more specialist and sophisticated advice. Matthew is committed to providing a broader service, diversifying the traditional offering of buying and selling property. This diversity translates to the range of skillsets and professionals across the region. Asked about a defining moment in his working life, he credits a secondment to a high-profile client early in his career to teaching him the value, and skill, of building relationships.
Outside the day job, Matthew is an industry insider. He comments regularly in the real estate press, speaks at global conferences and actively supports the Urban Land Institute.
Away from work, Matthew shares his passion for music, classic cars and all things outdoors (preferably at high altitude) with his wife and two young children.
