Chris Heald and his partner had a lifelong desire to have children. After years of evaluating options to start a family, they chose a company that coordinated surrogacy in Thailand. In 2014 they went to Thailand for the birth of their children. Everything went as planned … until a military coup happened and the new government suddenly stopped allowing families who had children via surrogacy to leave the country.
