- According to the 2019 Corporate Travel Index done by Business Travel News, Portland is the 2nd most affordable major West Coast city for business travel on a per-diem basis.
- Portland is 34% cheaper than a trip to San Francisco and is 13.5% less expensive than Los Angeles.
- A major cost advantage for Portland is hotel pricing as a result of a flood of supply in recent years. Several hundred new guest rooms have delivered to the urban core from projects such as The Porter, Radisson Red, Woodlark, the Hyatt House and Hotel Eastlund.
- While much has already come online, there still remains another 2,100 rooms in the pipeline. The highly anticipated Hyatt Regency at the Oregon Convention Center will contribute 600 guest rooms. Others include Hyatt Centric in the West End, The Lotus near Southwest 2nd and Taylor, and Hyatt Place in the Pearl.
