- Los Angeles hosts one of the largest concentrations of millennials in Southern California. Overall, this cohort represents 28 percent of the county’s population which is three percentage points greater than the national average. Neighborhoods in Hollywood and Koreatown are among the leading destinations for this age group, hosting over 10,000 persons per square mile. This mirrors regional transit and densification patterns emerging throughout Los Angeles.
- Los Angeles millennials are also living close to where leading industry clusters in media, entertainment and tech are located, which employ a combined 320,000 people regionally. Conversely, these same employers are seeking to be located in close proximity to where the talent lives. Additional growth in the entertainment and digital economy will continue to attract and sustain a younger population in Los Angeles.
