Industrial investment volume tops $100.0B for first time
Total volume through 2019 was the largest volume total in sector history closing at $102.0B, as 2019 momentum will carry through to the first half of 2020 via the additional large-scale portfolio and entity-level transactions announced in Q4.
- Investors looking for industrial investment exposure are feeling the pressure of large-scale portfolio and entity-level buyouts in recent years; much of the assets involved remain in a rapidly consolidating ownership landscape, creating intense competition for capital placement on opportunities that do come to market.
- Industrial volumes for 2020 are expected to continue to expand at an accelerated rate due to large-scale portfolio deal flow set to close in the first two quarters of the year, proving to establish a new normal in the sheer activity and volume growth of industrial volume, with 2020 forecast excepted to close between $70.0 - $80.0B.
