Indianapolis Q2 2019 retail market at a glance…
New retail construction has provided a boost to the Indianapolis retail market
July 31, 2019
- New retail construction has provided a boost to the Indianapolis retail market. All retail submarkets have seen occupancy growth so far this year except Downtown. However, the CBD should start seeing positive net absorption once the retail component of the massive Bottleworks development delivers later this year.
- Notable other construction projects, such as the Shoppes at Whitestown Phase I, delivered this quarter. Phase II of the Shoppes at Whitestown along with the Yard at Fishers are wrapping up and could be completed as soon as next quarter.
- Additional developments are on the way. The latest to break ground is Marketplace at Saxony in Noblesville. Nearly all retail construction currently taking place in the market is on the northern half of Indianapolis, primarily centered around Fishers and Whitestown.
