Downtown Fort Worth submarket to have direct access to DFW Airport starting January 2019
September 25, 2018
- The new TexRail line will provide direct access to DFW Airport from the Fort Worth CBD in 52 minutes. Over 11.3 million square feet of office space and 5.8 million square feet of industrial space will be within half a mile of one of the new stops on the TexRail line.
- The Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center in downtown Fort Worth is just minutes from Sundance Square and major office buildings, making a quick trip to and from the airport possible without the uncertainty of traffic congestion on the freeway network.
- The new line adds to the existing Trinity Railway Express, a 34-mile link between downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas. Ridership for the 34-mile commuter rail line has reached an average weekday total of 7,200, with 3,400 riders between Downtown Fort Worth and CentrePort/DFW Airport station.
- As younger professionals have shown rising interest in commuting on public transportation, the TexRail stops will enable densification and transit-oriented mixed-use development around stations, as well as potential for more multi-family development.
