As development draws people to South End initially, additional construction seeks to satisfy the demands of the market, while transforming the submarket into more of a work-friendly environment.
- In the past decade, office space in Midtown / South End has multiplied. With an existing office stock of 3, 672,460 square feet, employers, developers, and investors have identified South End as a desirable work location due to the LYNX Light Rail and nearby amenities. Large companies like Lowe’s, Duke Energy, and Krispy Kreme are setting up shop in South End to attract and retain top talent.
- Known as the millennial hub of Charlotte, South End’s multi-family development continues to deliver new product. Though rents are climbing as well, properties within walking distance of the Rail Trail see new units absorbed almost immediately.
