Long Island office insight - Q2 2018

As of mid-year 2018, year-to-date leasing velocity has been distributed evenly among the most active submarkets: Central Nassau and Eastern Nassau captured 31.0 percent each, and Western Nassau captured 35.0 percent. Catholic Health Services further expanded their presence in Melville following their leasing of 35,000 square feet at 3 Huntington Quadrangle the previous quarter, through their leasing of 43,000 square feet at 320 South Service Road. 

Also taken place in Melville was Janney Montgomery Scott’s leasing of 8,577 square feet at 395 North Service Road. Activity in other submarkets comprised mainly of mid-sized deals; in Garden City, Planet Payment signed a 7,500-square-foot lease at 600 Old Country Road and Worldwide Security signed an 8,000-square-foot lease at 900 Stewart Avenue.
